• Dr. Sherif Makar, M.D., Chief Medical Visionary

  Dr. Sherif Makar is a board-certified neurologist and UCNS-certified neuro-oncologist whose leadership defines the forward-thinking foundation of Charis Neurology. A graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Integrative Biology and the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, Dr. Makar completed his Neurology residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville and an advanced Neuro-Oncology fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center, where he refined his expertise in complex brain and spinal tumors. He has served as a Principal Investigator in clinical trials involving immunotherapy and targeted therapy, translating cutting-edge research into real-world patient care. Recognized among the nation’s top physicians with 99th Percentile Physician Awards in 2021 and 2022, Dr. Makar’s reputation is built on clinical precision, innovation, and deep compassion. A member of the American Academy of Neurology and Society for Neuro-Oncology, he continues to advance comprehensive, patient-centered neurological care through evidence-based medicine and visionary leadership—guiding every patient with clarity, empathy, and excellence.

• Dr. Soheil Sooudi, M.D., Diagnostic Neuroradiologist

  Dr. Sooudi is a board-certified diagnostic neuroradiologist with over 25 years of experience in advanced neuroimaging interpretation. Serving as the reading diagnostic neuroradiologist for Charis Neurology, Dr. Sooudi specializes in high-resolution MRI, CT, and PET imaging with a focus on detailed evaluation of cranial nerves, brain, and spine pathology. He completed his Doctor of Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, followed by neuroradiology externships at the Mayo Clinic and Jackson Memorial Hospital, bringing a depth of expertise grounded in academic excellence. A member of the American College of Radiology, Radiologic Society of North America, and Florida Radiological Society, Dr. Sooudi also serves with Central Florida Diagnostics, where he oversees ACR Quality Assurance across multiple imaging modalities. His meticulous approach and commitment to imaging precision ensure the highest diagnostic accuracy for Charis Neurology patients, reinforcing the center’s reputation for cutting-edge neuroimaging and patient-centered excellence

• Katrina Towns, Center Manager

  Katrina serves as our Center Manager at Charis Neurology, where she leads with dedication, professionalism, and a patient-first mindset. Katrina oversees daily operations, supports our team, and ensures that every patient’s experience is warm, seamless, and compassionate. As a leader, she is committed to fostering an environment of excellence and efficiency, making Charis Neurology a place where patients feel both cared for and supported.

• Bailey Blazina, Neurodiagnostic Technologist

  Bailey is our Neurodiagnostic Technologist, providing essential diagnostic studies that guide precise and personalized neurological care. She performs each test with meticulous skill, ensuring accuracy while supporting patients with warmth and reassurance. Bailey’s role is central in helping us identify complex neurological conditions and tailor treatment plans. • Nyela Marie Esparza, Infusion Nurse

  Nyela serves as our Infusion Nurse, where she combines clinical expertise with compassionate care to guide patients through their treatment journey. She is dedicated to making each infusion session as comfortable, safe, and reassuring as possible. With her gentle approach and attentive presence, Nyela fosters trust and confidence in patients receiving advanced therapies. • Sean Franks, MRI Technologist

  Sean is our MRI Technologist, specializing in advanced imaging that plays a vital role in accurate neurological diagnosis. He combines technical expertise with a patient-centered approach, making the imaging process both efficient and comfortable. Sean’s keen attention to detail ensures the highest-quality images, giving physicians the clarity they need to guide treatment. • Angela Escalona, Front Desk Coordinator

  Angela is our Front Desk Coordinator and the welcoming face of Charis Neurology. She sets the tone for each visit by ensuring a smooth and supportive experience from check-in to check-out.
